MY STORY

The magic of printmaking

 

I am a printmaker/artist living in Canmore, Alberta in the beautiful Canadian Rockies. From a very young age I was inspired by printmaking, especially Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and the wonderful illustrations made by wood engraving.

While my art journey has been long and winding – exploring many mediums including drawing, painting, watercolor, collage and wood carving – when I picked up my carving tools and applied them to carving my first relief print, I somehow knew I was home.

Although printmaking is a broad field – from etching, wood engraving, monoprinting, and more – my art practice primarily uses relief printmaking on linoleum. I've also recently started to integrate gelli plate printing into my mixed media pieces. It's a process that is magical to me!
